KRAV MAGA Vancouver/Richmond Self Defense
Krav Maga focuses on real-world scenarios that kids, women and men find themselves in every day! As such, it incorporates extremely efficient and often aggressive techniques for quick escape. In Krav Maga there is no point fighting, sparring, referees or judges. It is based on assault prevention and ego-less survival.
Krav Maga is often chosen to compliment occupations dealing with the public (security, law enforcement, medical personnel, teachers, counselors, health workers, home care, realtors, etc.) that wish to have options for non-violent escape, diffusion and effective self protection when necessary.
Developed by Imi Lichtenfeld (a Hungarian Israeli martial artist with street fighting, boxing and wrestling background), for protection of the Jewish quarter, his close quarter combat lessons were provided to the Israeli Defense Forces in the 1940's. This was further developed into the system known as Krav Maga and adopted for military special forces, police and civilian self defense.
